GOOD SAUCE. GOOD BURN.

BEHIND THE BOTTLE.

HOW WE
RESEARCH SAUCES.

Every profile connects what the maker says about a sauce with one documented Hot Ones lineup appearance. Here’s how to read the details.

The show placement.

Season and sauce number describe one appearance in a ten-sauce Hot Ones lineup. Some bottles appeared in more than one season. We link historical lineup references on each profile and call out the featured appearance; a number like #7 is not a universal heat measurement.

What’s in the bottle.

Ingredients and flavor notes come from the linked maker’s current product information. A formula can change after a sauce appears on the show, so the current label may differ from the historical bottle. When a complete ingredient list is unavailable, we say so. Always check your own bottle for ingredient and allergen information.

How we describe heat.

A maker’s “5/10” is that maker’s own scale. We do not compare those numbers as if they were the same lab test, and we show Scoville units only when a reliable sauce-specific value is available. The flavor notes summarize product descriptions and listed ingredients; they are not a claim that we personally tasted or lab-tested every bottle.

What tasters say.

Each profile links to a first-hand customer review or a published tasting. Quotation marks mean the short excerpt is the reviewer’s exact words; other notes are our summaries, with the original review linked. Tastes are personal. Older tastings may describe a previous recipe, so read the bottle label for current details. We do not present outside reviews as our own experience or use them to claim an aggregate rating.

Where buying links go.

The primary button opens the maker or product listing. An Amazon button appears only when an exact ASIN has been matched to the sauce. Prices and stock can change, so we do not publish unverified values. Each profile displays the date its product details were checked and links to its sources.
